Emotional Leaders for the Boys

Every NFL team is not fortunate enough to have a Tom Brady, an Eli and Peyton Manning, a Drew Brees, or an Aaron Rodgers.  One of the greatest NFL leaders of our time and in the conversation of all times is Ray Lewis of the Baltimore Ravens.  There are 32 NFL teams, but I only mentioned less than 10 leaders.  That means more than 22 NFL teams are missing leaders on their teams.
DE # 97 - Jason Hatcher

The Dallas Cowboys happen to be one of the 22 plus teams who do not have an on the field leader.  According to NBC Sports Pro Football Talk.com, Cowboys DE, Jason Hatcher currently in his 7th season, stated the team is need of a vocal leader.

RB# 29 - Demarco Murray
Every team has a different type of leader.  You have the owners, the coaches, the vocal leaders from players, and the players that lead by example.  Then you have the emotional leaders.  In my opinion, the emotional leaders are the ones who lead but lead by their style of play on the field.  So far, Cowboy players do not seem to react to owners, coaches, or vocal leaders on the team.

From what I have witnessed, the emotional players the team has gravitated to are running back Demarco Murray on the offense and inside linebacker Sean Lee of the defense.  I have noticed that these two players give the team a great edge.  Whenever Murray runs he runs with passion and I notice players get charged after he finishes running over someone.  Whenever Sean Lee is on the field he makes tackles everywhere and he is always around the football.

ILB #50 Sean Lee
These are two types of psychological personalities that the Cowboys have been longing for.  I have not heard Demarco Murray verbally commit to being a leader of the team, but you can tell by the team’s reaction to his style of play that he is a leader.  As far as Sean Lee is concerned, he has already stated he wants to be like inside linebackerRay Lewis, according to the Star Telegram.

Hey, what better person to emulate than one of the best players of all time.  Especially since he plays the same position as he does.  For years a lot of fans chastised Kobe Bryant for trying to be too much like Michael Jordan.  Can someone tell me what other pro basketball player he should try to accomplish the same goals as?  Sure, there are other basketball players like Magic Johnson and Larry Bird, but Kobe grew up in the Jordan era.  Jordan won 6 NBA championships.  SIX.

When becoming a leader, I feel it is essential to watch other great leaders in all walks of light.  Former head coach, Tony Dungy was a quite leader.  You have a religious leader like Martin Luther King, Jr., a presidential leader like John F. Kennedy, and business moguls like Bill Gates and Oprah Winfrey.  Each one has different traits that provide high quality where people will follow.  For some reason Cowboy players have not been able to find leadership in their owner, coaches, and players.  Even though Sean Lee is lost with a toe injury for the 2012-2013 season, he can still be a leader from the sidelines.  Demarco Murray has been injured on an off but his play on the field is second to none on the Cowboy’s roster.  One day these two will be accomplished leaders on their respective sides.
